The connection between songwriting and personal story, and how we can become the voice of justice in our communities (with Teresa Trask of The SHIYR Poets)
There is a deep personal connection when we write a song born out of our own life story, or the life story of another that has moved us, and/or changed us in some way. It is incredibly powerful when that song story is composed in such a way that it becomes accessible, and can be owned and sung by others who connect with the story as if it were their own.
